Diane Kelly Profits From Tax Evasion!

Author Diane Kelly is actually making money from tax evasion! Writing about tax evasion — that is.  Her books are murderously funny, the plot twists keep you dying to get to the end — where everyone gets their just desserts.

I sat down with Diane and found out her ideas come from her real life as a tax attorney.  Please enjoy this short interview, and remember to comment at the end.  Diane is giving away the first book in her IRS series:  Death, Taxes, and a French Manicure  to three lucky people!

Trust me, with April 15th looming in two short weeks, we can all use a laugh about now.

Her latest book in the series, Death Taxes, and a Peach Sangria just came out two months ago, and in honor of St. Patricks Day, she released a non-tax book called Love, Luck and Little Green Men.  As usual, they’re both hysterical.

So, to win a copy of Diane’s Death, Taxes, and a French Manicure, please remember to answer this question:  What is the funniest or most romantic thing about your taxes? (or leave a comment below).  You can earn extra chances to win by following this blog and by commenting at KissAndThrill.com, too.

  1. Fun interview! I just read a sample of Diane’s writing, which was entertaining and hilarious! Who knew taxes could be so much fun?! Thanks, Diane and Diana.

  2. What a hoot! Who knew reading about tax evaders could be such fun! Thanx for the great interview you two.

    1. When you see what the IRS has to deal with, it makes you feel a little better about paying your taxes. : )

  3. Diane — are you still doing people’s taxes? Will you come and do mine? I need a laugh about now and would love to hire a funny CPA!

    1. I retired last April 16th and haven’t looked back!!! I have to admit that I feel a big sense of relief when I see all of the tax commercials. It’s a tough industry to be in – things change all the time. It’s enough to make your head spin!

  4. My husband always does our taxes in front of a roaring fire. I bring in food and we eat picnic style as we complain about how much money we’re not getting back. I think it’s very romantic and helps ease the stress.

    1. Sounds like fun! If it’s any consolation, financial planners say that you really don’t want to get a big refund because it’s like giving the government an interest-free loan. : ) I like to get just enough back that we can go out for a nice dinner and celebrate!

  5. Hi Diane and Diana!

I learn a little more about tax law enforcement with each Death, Taxes….book I read, but mostly I laugh out loud a whole lot!!! I’m so glad that others are enjoying them too. If Tara were not a fictional character, I’d wanna hang out with her.

  6. Diana,
Thanks for sharing another great author interview; finding humor and romance in taxes is pure genius!

  8. The romantic thing about taxes is finding out you made a mistake on this year’s taxes–which saves you money–then amending last year’s taxes because of same error–and getting to use refund to take romantic vacation!
