Jonathan Maberry: How to Query an Agent or Editor

Jonathan Maberry knows how to get into your head. He creates cross-genre thrillers where heroes battle monsters, and he follows teens who see and hear things in their heads.

At scaring, thrilling, and understanding the human in us all, he’s a master.

And his latest book, Deep Silence, featuring the studly, deeply damaged, Joe Ledger, is out at the end of this month! I can’t wait.

Today on Book Smart,  Jonathan Maberry gives terrific advice about how to query agents and editors at the Creatures, Crime and Creativity Conference in Columbia, Maryland. I’ve been to many of Jonathan’s courses and he’s phenomenal. He’s candid, truthful, and interested in getting newer authors not only published, but published well. There aren’t many folks like him. If you know your author’s voices, you’ll hear established authors asking questions, too. He’s that good.

Here’s the video:

Thanks to Jonathan for letting me video tape him and also for the great advice he’s shared over the years.

If you ever get to see him in person, say hi from me, and don’t hesitate to sign up for his courses. He’s one of the best.
